Facial Skin Care Tips for Teenage Girls

As your daughter hits puberty and become a teenager, facial skin care becomes a very important factor for them and it can affect their self-esteem.

Tweens (12) and young teens (13-15) today, are using makeup more and more. As a mom it is important to reiterate less is more and classy is not trashy. Obviously, every parent has their own rules and some may not allow their teenage daughters to wear makeup while others do. We did not allow ours to wear it until she was 14-and even then, it was VERY light and no mascara until she was 16! If you allow your daughter to wear make up, it is important to teach them HOW to wear it, and take care of their skin.

Teenager girls love to share things-especially clothes and makeup. Make sure they learn not to share makeup and to always use clean applicators when applying it. Keep with the rule of no double dipping as that will contaminate the product and could cause eye infections. Continue reading

It is the one essential that if ignored can completely mitigate all of your other healthy choices. Unfortunately, keeping your skin safe from the sun is a little more difficult than many realize.

There are two types of ultraviolet rays that effect your skin – UVA and UVB. In the past we thought UVB was really the only UV ray that caused any danger as it is what causes the burning of the skin.
